Important Fall 1991 well-documented Dolce & Gabbana crystal-embellished mini skirt.
Description
"You can not beat Dolce & Gabbana early '90s, especially these [crystal-embellished] looks", said Kim Kardashian when presenting the Kim x Dolce & Gabbana collection for Spring/Summer 2023 inspired by her favourite archival looks which included some reinterpretations of the iconic crystal-adorned pieces from Fall 1991.
Oh! Jackie is delighted to offer this important and rare Dolce & Gabbana crystal-embellished mini skirt from the original Fall 1991 collection. It is a spectacular example of the brand's penchant for ornate decoration and unparalleled craftsmanship.
The sister mini skirt with clear crystals and various designs with multicoloured stones walked the runway of that season worn by the 1990s super model crowd amongst them Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Linda Evangelista. Please have a look at the reference photos.
Like several other exceptional vintage pieces that are already available in the shop, the skirt comes direct from a German socialite and fashion collector so has not been on the market prior to this.
The regular-rise mini skirt is made in Italy from a black slightly stretchy fabric and covered in large different shaped light-catching multicoloured crystals.
The design features a fitted cut accentuating your hips and a side zip and hook-and-eye fastening. Weighted, due to heavy embellishments and unlined. Labeled "DOLCE & GABBANA". Tagged an Italian size 42 but runs much smaller. Comes with a Dolce & Gabbana dust bag.

Description

In short order, Gucci was a global player once again."

Important documented Azzedine Alaïa Fall 1993 perforated boiled wool trousers with fringe finishing.
Description
Here we have a truly important and documented piece of fashion history by AZZEDINE ALAÏA from his Fall 1993 collection: the black perforated boiled wool-blend trousers with fringed finishings. They were worn by super model Nadja Auermann for an editorial shot photographed by Gilles Bensimon for Elle France in 1993. Please see the picture after the label shot.
This design is so iconic that it made it into the recently by Maison ALAÏA launched "ALAÏA EDITIONS", described "As an iconic wardrobe respectfully recreated from the archives between 1981 and 2017, Editions carry forth the essence of ALAÏA: its eternal innovation. These pieces have been thoroughly reproduced by the ateliers according to their original designs, and reflect Monsieur Alaïa’s inimitable approach to timeless beauty, his sense of sensuality and his flawless technique." Editions director Caroline Fabre Bazin and Alaïa CEO Myriam Serrano decided to focus on pieces they see as “important for the house, important in the history of fashion, that also speak of technique and timelessness.”
These ultra-stylish black trousers from the original Fall 1993 collection are crafted from a black boiled wool-blend. Fringed finishings are combined with perforated lines starting from below the knees and allowing to show a glimpse of skin. High-waisted, they reach down to the ankles. Unlined and pull on to wear. Labelled "ALAÏA PARIS MADE IN ITALY" and tagged a size S but the fabric does have stretch.
Note that the black ALAÏA cashmere jumper is for styling only and is not included. It is available here.

Glorious Autumn/Winter 1976-1977 Yves Saint Laurent "Russian Collection" peasant skirt.
Description
This is one of Yves Saint Laurent's iconic and well documented peasant skirts he did for the Rive Gauche line at the time of his famous "Russian Collection" dating from 1976-1977.
"The “Opéras – Ballets russes” collection, Yves Saint Laurent’s first fashion show at the Hôtel Inter-Continental, was a true spectacle. Saint Laurent was an admirer of the Ballets russes (founded by Sergei Diaghilev in the early twentieth century), Léon Bakst’s costumes and oriental paintings. His collection simultaneously evoked czar-era Russia and the Russia depicted in operas. Using gleaming colors and luxurious textiles (including fur, chiffon, silk, velvet, and gold lamé), Saint Laurent restored haute couture’s capacity to make people dream." – Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris
The ankle-length skirt features the signature fitted upper part done in a luxurious black velvet. Attached, the black light wool and angora mix fabric is finely gathered, adding volume and visual dimension to the skirt in contrast to the fitted panel that has a kind of slimming-effect and balances the volume of the skirt. The way the skirt moves is other-wordly!
The velvet hip band is lined in a black silky rayon whereas the lower part is unlined. The design closes with a painted metal zipper and a flat hook and eye at the side. Labeled "Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris Made in France" and tagged a French vintage size 38. Please check the measurements below.
A wearable and collectible piece of fashion history with endless styling possibilities!
Condition
This skirt is in excellent vintage condition. There are a few spots where the fabric of the lower part of the skirt near the hem shows slight weakness. It is so long and has so much fabric that they do not show at all when worn nor do they detract from this rare piece.

Spectacular 1972 documented floral signature print velvet maxi skirt by Emilio Pucci.
Description
This is a beyond beautiful version of Emilio Pucci's coveted A-line flared maxi skirts from 1972. The print is documented in the book "PUCCI – A Renaissance in Fashion" by Shirley Kennedy on page 107, saying that it is "inspired by cathedral stained glass".
The high-waisted floor-length – actually extra-long – wrap skirt is made from luxurious soft cotton velvet and features one of Emilio Pucci's vivid floral prints in bright orange, yellow and coral pink with subtle white, beige and brown accents. The inky black background serves as the perfect muted base to pop off the colours. It has a decorative trumpet flower design waistband and border at the hem and down the front.
The skirt is fully lined in black, hand set silk and closes with a series of hidden set mother-of-pearl buttons down the side front and two hooks and snaps at the waistband. Hand finished. The original label is still present. Marked a size 12 (Vintage) but runs larger. Please review the below condition report and measurements.

Stunning documented Yves Saint Laurent brown pleated crushed velvet skirt from the late 1970s.
Description
This is one of Yves Saint Laurent's iconic and well documented pleated evening skirts he did in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This Rive Gauche version would have been based on that Haute Couture skirt from the famous 1976-77 Russian Collection. This Haute Couture look was then translated into pleated crushed velvet skirts in various colours for the Rive Gauche label.
Our example is made of an incredible amount of crushed rayon velvet in a rich gleaming ginger bread brown that is just phenomenal. The ankle-length skirt is tinily pleated from the narrow waistband that sits high at the waist and extends to the hem of the design. The way the skirt moves is beyond words!
It is unlined and closes with a painted metal zipper and a flat hook and eye at the center back. Labeled "Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris Made in France" and tagged a French vintage size 38.
Endless styling possibilities! From day to night!
